This photo shows the construction of the Rapp and Rapp designed, Balaban and Katz Uptown Theatre. The mammoth structure would eventually house a five-story entrance lobby and 4,381 seats. When the Uptown Theatre opened in August of 1925, it was marketed as “An Acre of Seats in a Magic City.”
