The Tivoli Theatre was another of Balaban and Katz’s famous theatres. The theatre’s opening grabbed headlines, with the Chicago Daily-News writing “Crowds Storm Opening of New Tivoli Theater,” and the industry magazine Variety proclaiming “New Tivoli Called ‘Finest Theatre’-Balaban and Katz’s $2,000,000 Masterpiece Opens”
