Anthony F. Dumas’ hobby creating of intricate theatre drawing was so well executed, it is easy to forget that those were drawn for his own personal pleasure. When his drawings are compared to photographs from the day that he may have been drawing from, it’s even more impressive. Western New York Heritage: Western New York’s Illustrated History Quarterly, has a webpage with a history of the Criterion Theatre and period photos that help to see the real quality of Dumas’ work.
