Another great feature of Anthony F. Dumas’ drawings are the signs and advertisements. This drawing of the Cataract and Strand Theatres in downtown Niagara Falls, NY has a sign announcing “High Class Vaudeville,” an attraction that undoubtedly brought in locals and tourists, who flocked to Niagara Falls in the summer vacation season. Since Dumas is assumed to have drawn from photographs, it makes sense that his theatres are shown with prominent advertisements.
