Membership

Thank you for coming

We're building a new home for THSA members, and we're glad you stopped by. Your support keeps America's historic theatres, and the stories they hold, part of our shared history.

Getting ready

Questions

What to expect when the new membership system opens. Anything else? Write to us at membership@historictheatres.org.

Do I need to do anything if I'm already a member?

Yes, one step: set a password. Your information is already being moved into the new site for you, so this isn't a new membership application, just setting a password for the account we'll be creating for you. You will be notified via email when your account is ready. Upon renewal, you will need to add a card or account information.

How do I log in for the first time?

Use the link in the email we'll send you, and set a password.

I didn't get an activation email. What do I do?

Accounts are not ready yet.

Why do I have to enter my credit card again if I already pay automatically?

For security reasons, card information can't be transferred from our old system to the new one. You'll enter your card once in the new system, and it's saved securely from then on for future renewals.

Is it safe to enter my card on the new site?

Yes. Card payments are processed directly by Stripe, a payment processor used by many nonprofits and businesses. THSA's website never sees or stores your card number.

What happens if I don't renew before October 1st, 2026?

Your membership itself won't be cancelled. You can still activate or create an account after that date when the registration becomes available again.

I already renewed this year. Do I still need to activate an account?

Yes, but only the activation step, not payment until your next renewal date. Your current membership term carries over as-is; activating your account just gives you a way to check your status and manage it going forward.

What if the email address you have for me is out of date?

Contact us at membership@historictheatres.org and we'll update it and get your password reset link sent to the correct address when the accounts are ready.
