Other books in the American Theatre Architecture Archives have more tangential relations to the study of public exhibition and American theatres. This commercial guidebook, published to celebrate the two decades of progress after the Great Chicago Fire, has a few small pictures of theatre exteriors, but mainly focuses on industry.

The back of the book features short biographies of Chicago’s captains of industry, including this interesting section on the W.J. Blackman & Co. theatre lighting company.
