This week we will take a trip through one of our less-examined collections- playbills and programs! Though a collections decision was made to no longer actively pursue theatre playbills and programs, it was not decided that we needed to weed our collection of them.
The American Theatre Architecture Archives has a fantastic collection that sheds light on performance practice, the advertising industry, audience preferences, and theatre attendance.
