If you continue to browse and use this or any of our websites (from here on ‘sites’) you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our Privacy Policy govern Theatre Historical Society of America’s -from here on THSA- relationship with you and your use of this portal and its social media pages. The term ‘THSA’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the portal registered at 461 Cochran Rd. Box 144 Pittsburgh, PA 15228. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our sites. The following terms are subject to change at any moment. Any alterations will be posted on this site.

THSA reserves all the rights to limit, allow or disallow the download, reproduction, or sharing of the media presented through this website. Any reproduction requests should be submitted to us in writing.
Any material you submit -be it a digital file(s) of any sort or text- to the Stage Door network must be of your own creation.

Stage Door and Social Media Sites Disclaimer
We welcome and encourage open discussion on THSA social media sites – including but not limited to our blogs, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube pages and online story-sharing forums – and look forward to any comments, stories and experiences you want to share about theatres.
We make reasonable efforts to monitor participation to ensure that you stay on topic, are courteous and avoid making offensive comments.
The opinions and or views expressed on THSA social media platforms represent the thoughts of individual bloggers and online communities, and not those necessarily of the Theatre Historical Society of America or any of its affiliates or any of their respective directors, officers, employees, research staff, volunteers, or members of its respective board of directors. The opinions and views expressed on these pages do not in any way reflect the views of the site they are posted on, other sites affiliated with the site, the staff involved with maintaining the site or any members of the site.
While THSA makes reasonable efforts to monitor and/or moderate content posted on its social media platforms, we do not moderate all comments and cannot always respond in a timely manner to online requests for information. Any inquiry may be addressed during working hours.
Theatre Historical Society of America reserves the sole right to review, edit and/or delete any comments it deems are inappropriate. Comments including but not limited to the following may be deleted or edited by the moderators:
- Abusive or hurtful comments about a contributor or another participant
- Off-topic and redundant comments (this includes promotion of events, groups, pages, websites, organizations and programs not industry related or affiliated with THSA)
- Comments that use foul language or “hate speech” (for example, including but not limited to racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, or gender bashing language)
- Personal attacks or defamatory statements or comments (i.e., making negative personal or untrue comments), instead of just criticizing his/her posting, opinion or comments
- Comments that violate the privacy of our membership, staff, contributors, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and affiliates
To preserve the integrity of THSA systems, protocols and brand, we reserve the right to deactivate or remove users from the THSA social media platform, social media pages or websites at any given moment for any reason. A THS membership does not entitle free access and usage of THSA multimedia resources, platforms, websites, and social media pages. Access and usage of THSA websites and materials may entail additional requirements and fees from you.
Information posted on our sites or social media pages is intended solely for informational and for entertainment purposes. All links to other websites found linked from THSA’s websites or social media pages does not constitute endorsement of those sites by THSA, and as such we are not responsible for the content of external websites. We cannot guarantee their accuracy.
By submitting content to any of THSA social media sites or websites, you understand and acknowledge that this information is available to the public, and that THSA may use this information for internal and external promotional and fundraising purposes. Please note that other participants may use your posted information beyond THSA’s control. If you do not wish to have the information you have made available via this site and THSA’ social media sites used, published, copied and/or reprinted, please do not post on this page.
An individual user may register one (single) account to access the Stage Door Network. Theatre Affiliates may create up to two (2) accounts with different email addresses and usernames. Any requests for additional accounts will be evaluated by THSA on a case-by-case basis.
The following activities are prohibited on our websites and social media and constitute violations of these Terms of Use:
Submitting any content to the sites that:
- Violates applicable laws (including, without limitation, but not limited to intellectual property laws, laws relating to rights of privacy and rights of publicity and laws related to defamation);
- Contains personal information, except when we expressly ask you to provide such information;
- Contains viruses or malware;
- Offers unauthorized downloads of any copyrighted, confidential or private information;
- Has the effect of impersonating others;
- Contains messages by non-spokesperson employees or volunteers of THSA purporting to speak on behalf of THSA or provides confidential information concerning THSA;
- Contains chain letters of any kind;
- Is purposely inaccurate, commits fraud or falsifies information in connection with your THSA membership or Stage Door account or to create multiple Stage Door accounts;
- or is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner of the copyright, trademark or other proprietary right.
Attempting to do or actually doing any of the following:
- Accessing data not intended for you, such as logging into a server or an account which you are not authorized to access;
- Scanning or monitoring the sites for data gathering purposes in an effort to track sales, usage, aggregate offering information, pricing information or similar data;
- Scanning or testing the security or configuration of our sites or breaching security or authentication measures;
- or interfering with service to any user in any manner, including, without limitation, by means of submitting a virus to any of the sites or attempting to overload, “flood,” “spam,” “mail bomb” or “crash” any of the sites.
Using any of the following:
- Frames, framing techniques or framing technology to enclose any content included on our sites without our express written permission;
- Any of our sites content, including without limitation User Content (defined below), in any meta tags or any other “hidden text” techniques or technologies without our express written permission;
- or the sites or any of its contents to advertise or solicit, for any commercial, political or religious purpose or to compete, directly or indirectly, with THSA.
Collecting any of the following:
- Content from our sites, and featuring such content to the public in any manner that diverts traffic from our site without our express written permission;
- Personal Information (defined in our Privacy Policy) or User Content.
Engaging in any of the following:
- Tampering or interfering with the proper functioning of any part, page or area of our sites or any functions or services provided by THSA;
- Taking any action that places excessive demand on our services or imposes, or may impose, an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our servers or other portion of our infrastructure (as determined in our sole discretion);
- Reselling or repurposing your access to our sites or any purchases made through our sites;
- Accessing, monitoring or copying any content from our sites using any “robot,” “spider,” “scraper” or other automated means or any manual process for any purpose without our express written permission;
- Violating the restrictions in any robot exclusion headers on the sites or bypassing or circumventing other measures employed to prevent or limit access to our sites;
- or acting illegally or maliciously against the interests or reputation of THSA, THSA staff, volunteers or sponsors.
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Use shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
All interactions on THSA’s websites must comply with these Terms of Use. To the extent your conduct, in our sole discretion, restricts or inhibits any other user from accessing or enjoying any part of the sites, we may limit or terminate your privileges on the site or sites and seek other remedies including, without limitation, cancellation of your account or forfeiture of any unused values in your account.
If you disagree with these Terms please discontinue the use of this and the rest of THSA websites immediately.
